
Panthers Split for Meets at Boston University and Clemson

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team will be splitting up this weekend to participate in two separate meets. The distance group will be heading to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University, while the remainder of the team will travel south for the Clemson Tiger Paw Invite.

Up in Boston, the women's distance squad will kick off competition on Friday at 9 a.m. with Caroline Rusinski in the 5000m. The men distance group and the women's DMR are set to compete on Saturday.

CLEMSON TIGER PAW INVITE
Down south in the Palmetto state, field events begin at 11 a.m. on Friday with the men's weight throw. Track events start at 12 p.m. with the preliminary heats of the women's 60m hurdles. Saturday's field events will commence with the women's shot put trials and finals at 10 a.m. Track events will follow shortly thereafter.

LAST TIME OUT – PENN STATE NATIONAL OPEN
- Foluke Olujide-Ajibade set a new school record in the women's weight throw with a mark of 21.35m. Olujide-Ajibade was named a PNC Achiever of the Week for the second time this season after surpassing a program mark that had stood since 2006.
- Lydia Bottelier won the pentathlon with a personal best 4150 points, currently the second-best score in program history and 10th best in the NCAA.
- Stephon Brown won the men's 60m dash in 6.67 seconds.
- Peyton Geehrer won the men's 5000m in 14:36.13 to cap off the first day of the meet.
- The men's DMR foursome of Jack Miller, Darren McQueen Jr., Luke Simpson, and Finn Walsh took second place in what proved to be a highly competitive race. Their time of 9:42.36 currently sits as third best in the NCAA this season and fifth best in Pitt history.
