Niya Crawford Closes Season At NCAA National Championships

Eugene, Ore. – Senior Niya Crawford recorded a shot put throw of 52-feet-4.5 (15.96m) and placed 21st in the event at the NCAA Division I Track & Field National Championships Thursday evening at historic Hayward Field.
Crawford earned honorable mention All-American status for her performance. She opened competition with that throw before fouling on her second attempt and throwing 15.59m meters on her third and final throw.
Crawford was one of two shot putters to advance to the NCAA Division I National Championships, joining Emeka Ugwu, who placed 23rd in the men's shot put competition Wednesday evening. Their performances conclude the 2025-26 Pitt athletic season.
