The Orange jumped in front to start the dual as they clinched the doubles point. The Pitt doubles team of senior Callie Frey and freshman Camila Moreno were the first to fall, dropping a 6-2 decision to the No. 37 Syracuse team of Gabriela Knutson and Miranda Ramirez at the No. 1 spot. The Orange secured the point after the junior tandem of Natsumi Okamoto and Luisa Varon fell, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles.
Moving to singles, junior Gabriela Rezende finished first as she was outlasted by ninth-ranked Knutson at the No. 1 position, 6-0, 6-3.

Moreno added Pitt's final team point after her opponent Miranda Ramirez retired. The freshman dropped the first set 6-1, bounced back to win the second 7-6, and was tied 2-2 when play was suspended.
Varon was the last Panther to conclude play on the day. She dropped a hard-fought, three-set battle to Sofya Golubovskaya at the No. 3 spot. The junior fell in the first set, 6-1, but bounced back to take the second 6-4. However, her comeback fell short as she dropped the third set, 7-5.
