
Cross Country Closes Out Regular Season with Top Ten Finishes at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Pitt Cross Country closed out the regular season at the Princeton Fall Classic Friday morning. Maureen Cheruiyot, Camy Kiser and Thomas McMahon earned top 20 individual finishes at the meet. The women's team took ninth place while the men's team came in tenth out of 25 and 31 teams, respectively.
Cheruiyot, a freshman from Kenya, finished ninth with a personal best time of 20:13.9. With a time of 20:24.8, Kiser earned 14th place in the field of 282 athletes. Ella Cook was the next Panther to follow in 21:14.9. Freshman Elena Barrall ran for a time of 21:18.5, her third straight personal best in the 6K.
McMahon was the top finisher for the men, earning 13th place with an 8K personal best, 23:24.4. Senior Luke Simpson also tallied a personal best time, 23:58.0. Ethan Fingerhut was the third member of the group to finish as the senior stopped the clock in 24:29.6. Following closely behind Fingerhut was Damian Frausto, who recorded a personal best time of 24:19.1.

The Panthers begin post season competition at the end of the month, when Louisville plays host to the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships on October 31 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
