The Panthers have made tremendous strides in their four meets this year. 12 men and 15 women have competed in various races over the course of the fall. Thomas McMahon has led the Pitt men in every race. McMahon began the year with a first-place finish in the Panther Opener. He was the only Panther to finish in the top ten at the Spiked Shoe Invitational, earning seventh. Most recently, the sophomore from Columbus, Ohio, recorded an 8k personal best time of 23:24.4 at the Princeton Fall Classic, tallying 13th place.
The women's group has seen Ella Cook, Maureen Cheruiyot and Camy Kiser come out on top for the team this season. The trio went 2-3-4 to start at the Panther Opener. Cheruiyot claimed 14th at the Spiked Shoe Invitational, while Kiser finished in 20th at the Paul Short Run with a personal best. At the Princeton Fall Classic, Cheruiyot and Kiser both finished in the top 20, with 9th and 14th place performances, respectively.
The men's and women's teams enter ACC Championships seeking to outperform last year's results, where the men notched 13th and the women 16th. The top 21 individual student-athletes will be named to the All-ACC team. Sadie Carey-Tharp last acheived that feat at the 2023 ACC Championships.
