Pitt Falls to No. 10 NC State

Panthers Conclude Home Slate Sunday, March 31
WEXFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh tennis team fell to No. 10 NC State, 7-0, Friday evening at the Oxford Athletic Club.
With the loss, the Panthers drop to 4-12 overall and 0-9 in conference play. NC State improves to 18-3 and 8-1 against ACC foes.
The Wolfpack secured the doubles point after recording wins on courts one and three. NC State turned in the first win on court one, 6-0, which was followed by a 6-2 win on court two by the Pitt tandem of senior Luisa Varon and sophomore Camila Moreno. The Wolfpack clinched the point after posting a 6-2 win on court three.
Moving to singles, the Wolfpack recorded wins on all courts. However, three Panthers forced three sets on courts four, five and six. Senior Natsumi Okamoto and freshman Mariona Perez Noguera both won their first sets respectively, but couldn't bounce back to secure the wins.
The Panthers conclude their home slate Sunday, March 31 when they host No. 2 North Carolina at 11 a.m. at the Oxford Athletic Club.
