Pitt Hosts ACC Foe Friday Afternoon
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh tennis team (4-10, 4-5 ACC) returns to the Oxford Athletic Club Friday, March 22 to host No. 22 Virginia (11-4, 4-3 ACC) at 3 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers dropped their last non-conference match of the season,4-0, at FAU last Friday, March 15 in Bota Raton, Fla.
- The Owls earned the advantage early, clinching the doubles point after wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 spots, respectively. FAU secured the dual after three consecutive wins on courts one, four and three to end the match.
- Against the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils Sunday, March 17, Pitt was unable to pick up a win on any court, ultimately dropping a 7-0 decision.
SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
- Virginia enters the weekend 11-4 overall and 4-3 in the ACC after topping then-ranked No. 24 Michigan, 5-2, Wednesday, March 13.
- The Cavaliers travel to Pittsburgh ranked No. 22 nationally, with three ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams.
- Freshman No. 68 Amber O'Dell won her second consecutive match over a top-30 opponent in her last singles win over Michigan on March 13. O'Dell is 5-2 in No. 4 singles and has been victorious in eight of her last ten matches.
- Senior Meghan Kelley checks in at No. 39 and 9-4 on court one as junior Chloe Gullikson ranks No. 108.
- Senior Sofia Munera and Kelley rank No. 19 in doubles play, while No. 70 Gullickson and O'Dell are 12-9 overall when playing together and are 4-5 at No. 1 doubles.
- Friday's match marks the sixth meeting between the Panthers and the Cavaliers in program history. The Panthers are 0-5 against Virginia.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Panthers are set to host NC State Friday, March 29 at 3 p.m. at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pa. Pitt will return to Wexford Sunday, March 31 at 11 a.m. to face North Carolina.
