Pitt Faces First Conference Road Test
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh tennis team (3-3, 0-1 ACC) is set to face its first road ACC opponent of the year in Louisville (8-0, 0-0) Sunday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers recorded a 4-3 win over Akron Thursday, Feb. 7.
- Pitt clinched the doubles point and saw three Panthers record singles wins en route to the team victory.
- The doubles team of senior Clara Lucas and sophomore Camila Moreno turned in the first doubles win of the day at No. 3, 6-2. Soon after, senior Gabriela Rezende and sophomore Claudia Bartolome clinched the point with a win at No. 1, 6-3.
- The Zips jumped to a 3-1 lead after notching three straight singles wins on courts one, five and three.
- The Panthers battled back to claim the remaining three matches, including a hard-fought win by senior Luisa Varon at No. 2 to seal the deal, 7-5, 6-7 (3-6), 7-6 (7-2).
- The loss was the first of the year for Akron.
THE SERIES
- The Cards lead the all-time series 4-1.
- Louisville is opening the ACC slate with Pitt for the second consecutive season.
- Pitt's last win over Louisville came in 2015 as the Panthers earned their first ACC win in program history, 5-2.
- Pitt opened the conference season with Louisville a year ago and suffered a 4-3 loss in Pittsburgh.
SCOUTING THE CARDS
- Louisville enters the weekend 8-0 on the year.
- In their last time out, the Cards picked up a 5-2 win over Marshall Friday, Feb. 8.
- Louisville is led by sophomore Nikolina Jovic who is 7-0 on the year and ranks No. 114 in the Oracle/ITA Rankings. Jovic primarily plays the No. 3 spot for the Cards.
- Louisville finished the 2017-18 season 13-13 overall and fell in the first round of the ACC Championships to Virginia Tech.
LOOKING AHEAD
- Pitt returns home to host Bowling Green Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. at the Oxford Athletic Club.
