PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the first of three meets hosted at the Blue-White Golf Course in 2018, the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET.
The women's 6K race is set to begin at 5:30 p.m., with the men's 5.2-mile race to follow at 6:15 p.m. A recap of the day's races will be posted to PittsburghPanthers.com.

PANTHER ENTRIES
- Set to compete for the women are freshmen Emily Bonaventure, Devon Hoernlein and Mary McMahon, sophomores Ally Brunton, Emily Burd, Katrina Durrwachter and Mikaela Vlasic, junior Sarah Frick and seniors Natalie Hilton, Erin Keelan, Stephanie Lednak and Erin O'Connell.
- Competing for the men are freshmen Evan Addison, Tyler Rollins and Dan Uhranowsky, sophomore Zach Lefever, junior Drew Glick and senior Matt McGoey.
- Teams competing alongside Pitt on the women's side are Saint Joseph's, Navy, West Virginia, No. 25 Georgetown, No. 22 Syracuse, No. 12 Penn State, Cornell, Grove City and American.
- Men's teams participating will be from Grove City, American, Navy, No. 30 Georgetown, (RV) Penn State, No. 10 Syracuse, No. 23 Princeton and Saint Joseph's.
- At the Panthers' season opener, the Duquesne Duals (Sept. 1), the women's squad placed second with 63 points, and the men took third with 71 points.
- Freshman Caelan Miller made her Pitt debut and led the group of seven Panthers by finishing fourth with a time of 18:40.95 in the women's 5K race. Two other Panthers placed in the top 15: seniors Erin O'Connell (10th, 19:20.67) and Erin Keelan (12th, 19:24.79).
- For the second consecutive year, Jackson Morton crossed the line first for Pitt at the Duquesne Duals with a time of 26:01.95, placing fourth in the men's 8K. Two more Panthers made top 15 finishes: sophomore Josh Higgins (12th, 26:28.38) and freshman Tyler Rollins (13th, 26:29.00).

- The Panthers will get a preview of the 2018 ACC Cross Country Championship course when they visit Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown Friday, Sept. 21.
