Panthers Complete Third Fall Invitational of 2017
Singles Main Draw | Doubles
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The University of Pittsburgh tennis team completed its third fall invitational of 2017 Sunday evening at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Entering Sunday's competition, freshman Claudia Bartolome was the lone Panther in the main draw.
"We leave ITA Regionals as a better team," said head coach Alex Santos. "We are playing good tennis, competing well and the next step is to become more automatic in our decision making during the important points."
In the singles main draw, Bartolome battled with Maryland's Eva Alexandrova in three sets. Bartolome took the first set 6-2, but fell by the same score in the second and third sets.
Three Panthers competed in consolation singles today as well. Senior Callie Frey picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win over Liberty's Anna Dollar.
Pitt wraps up the all season the weekend of Nov. 3 when the Panthers travel to Cambridge, Mass., to participate in the Harvard Invitational.
