
Panthers Prepare to Host Cincinnati on Thursday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Women's soccer team will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 4 as the Panthers (4-2-0) host Cincinnati (2-2-2) at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Pitt's third-straight home match.
THE OPENING KICK
•The Panthers look to snap a two-game losing streak after being shut out in both of their matches the previous week. The last time Pitt was shutout in three consecutive matches was the 2018 season.
•Pitt has had five different goal scorers with Katie Ellermeyer (4), Lola Abraham (2), Magaret Wilde, Magali Gagne, and Sofia Doheny each finding the back of the net.
•Ellermeyer is tied for fourth in the ACC in goals (4) and tied for second in game-winning goals (2).
•Sophomore Lola Abraham has looked strong in her return to the lineup after missing the second half of last season with a knee injury. She has scored goals two goals, while playing 70 or more minutes in all six matches.
•Junior captain Olivia Lee has played the full 90 minutes in all six games this season and in 13 of the Panthers' past 16 matches dating back to last season.
•Veteran goalie Ellie Breech leads the conference in saves per game (4).
THE OPPOSITION
•Cincinnati is 2-2-2 on the season after a scoreless draw on the road last week against Bowling Green.
•The Bearcats also faced Xavier in non-conference play, falling 3-0 to the Musketeers in late August at home.
•Faith Broering and Maddie Swingle lead the Cincinnati offense with two goals each on the season.
•Camryn Miller leads the Big XII in total saves (24) and lands second in the conference in shutouts on the season (3).
