- This was the first time the Panthers have lost to the Bulls since 1996.
- The Bulls put their name on the board in the first ten minutes of play as Kayla Schultz found an opening in the bottom left of the net.
- Pitt was ready to retaliate. At the 23rd minute, freshman Lola Abraham powered a shot at the goal but hit the right post. Keera Melenhorst was able to receive the ball off the deflection of the post and make a quick pass to Samiah Phiri. Phiri found her moment and launched the ball into the net – making the board even.
- In the 57th minute, the Bulls found a quick opening in our back line and crossed in their second goal of the evening.
- The Panthers kept the Bulls keeper busy as Pitt fired 15 shots in the second half. Senior Sarah Schupansky put up a beautiful scoring opportunity in the 80th minute – powering a shot from way outside the box, but the Buffalo keeper got a glove on the ball.
