
Panthers Head to Clemson for First ACC Matchup of the Season

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (2-2-0, 0-0-0 ACC) is set to travel to Clemson, SC to meet the Tigers at the first ACC matchup of the season on Sunday, Jan. 21st. The meet will air live on the ACC Network and will kick off at 4 p.m.

- Sunday's ACC dual meet will be streamed live on the ACC Network.

THE MATCHUP
- Sunday's matchup between the Panthers and the Tigers will be the first ACC gymnastics dual meet of the season for both programs.
- With this being the inaugural season for Clemson, this will be the first time the two programs will meet.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers' 193.700 fell to Kent State's 194.550 on Friday evening's home opener at the Fitzgerald Field House.
- Three Panthers secured three first place titles on vault, bars and beam.
- Senior Jah'Liyah Bedminster posted the highest score on vault for the Panthers - securing the first place title on podium (9.800). She also posted the highest score for Pitt on floor with her 9.850.
- Freshman Emily Todd secured the first place overall with her routine on bars – earning a 9.900.
- Junior Jordyn Ewing and Bedminster each earned a 9.800 for their routine on bars.
- Ewing found herself on the podium as well – tying for first on beam with her 9.825.
SCOUTING CLEMSON
- The Clemson Tigers earned their first National rankings of the season – coming in at No. 19.
- The Tigers secured their first win in their inaugural season on Friday night at Littlejohn Coliseum in front of 8,018 fans.
- Clemson defeated William and Mary, 196.325-190.050.
- Lauren Rutherford earned the first place title on vault with her 9.825.
- The Tigers saw each gymnasts score a minimum of a 9.800 on bars to post a 49.225 team score. Lilly Lippeatt's 9.900 earned her the event title.
- Redshirt Senior Rebecca Wells posted the highest score for the Tigers on Beam with her 9.875.
- Clemson completed the meet with their best event of the night – earning a 49.275 team score. Brie Clark earned the event title with her 9.900 scored routine.
THE TERRIFIC TODD
- Freshman Todd who secured the first-ever ACC Newcomer of the Week honor (1/9) posted the highest score Pitt has seen thus far this season on Friday evening. She earned a 9.900 for her routine on bars.
NOTHING BETTER THAN BEDMINSTER
- Senior Bedminster secured Pitt's first-ever ACC Gymnast of the Week honor for her performance against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
- Bedminster competed in three events on Saturday night – posting scores of 9.800 and higher.
- The Loganville, GA native started the evening off on vault – securing a 9.800. This score earned her the first-place overall title of the evening for this event.
- The senior then moved on to her bars routine where she posted a 9.800. Her efforts helped the Panthers secure their highest team score of the evening – posting a 49.025.
- Bedminster finished her strong performance on floor where she earned a 9.850 for her routine – the highest for Pitt.

- The Panthers will continue their road journey as they head to meet NC State on Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
