
Panthers Secure Three First Place Titles in Home Opening Meet

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's gymnastics team (2-2-0, 0-0-0) fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes, Saturday night at the home opening dual meet at the Fitzgerald Field House. Three Panthers secured a first-place title for their performance this evening.
VAULT
The Panthers kicked off the home opening meet competing in Olympic order. Senior Jah'Liyah Bedminster posted the highest score on vault for the Panthers - securing the first place title on podium (9.800). Kennedy Duke started off her journey to in the All-Around with her score of 9.750 on vault. Fifth year Ciara Ward posted a 9.700.
BARS
Freshman Emily Todd secured the first place overall with her routine on bars – earning a 9.900. Junior Jordyn Ewing and Bedminster each earned a 9.800 for their routine. Freshman Julie Madso secured a 9.775 while Faith Lerro posted a 9.750. The Panthers completed their best event of the evening with a team score of 49.025.
BEAM
Ewing found herself on the podium tonight – tying for first on beam with her 9.825. Duke continued to push out scores in her All-Around journey – securing a 9.725.
FLOOR
Bedminster showcased her skills on floor tonight – posting the highest score for Pitt with her 9.850. Todd was not far behind her with her score of 9.825. Duke and Ewing posted a 9.775 for their routines on floor.
Duke completed the All-Around – finishing with a 38.925.
