PITTSBURGH – The Pitt softball team fell, 8-0, in five innings Friday afternoon at Vartabedian Field.

Pitt continues the series Saturday afternoon with game two at 1 p.m. on the ACCNX. Prior to the game, Pitt Softball alumni will be honored on the field, celebrating 25 years of collegiate play for the program.

- Senior Sarah Seamans went 2-for-2 with a double. She has eight hits in her last four games.
- Athletic Director Heather Lyke, Head Coach Jodi Hermanek and the Pitt softball team unveiled its state-of-the-art indoor batting cage facility prior to the game.
