PITTSBURGH – Pitt baseball continues its stay in North Carolina after the All-American Classic in Fayetteville with a Wednesday matchup at 6 p.m. with High Point.

REIGNING ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- Tatem Levins was named ACC Player of the Week in his performance at the All-American Classic last weekend.
- Levins homered in all three games and posted nine RBI and a 1.231 slugging percentage.
- He opened the tournament in Fayetteville, N.C. with a 2-4 performance at the plate with a solo homer and double against Army.
- He had a two-run homer in the 6-5 comeback win over Ohio State.
- In the 11-5 victory over Campbell, he saved his best performance last with a grand slam and two other hits, six RBI and two runs.
- He was also named one of Collegiate Baseball's Players of the Week.
- For the season, Levins has been an effective power hitter, with an active four-game streak with a home run.
- In the nation he ranks 18th in homers (five), 43rd in RBI (16) and 90th in slugging percentage (.750).
LAST TIME OUT-WINNING THE ALL-AMERICAN CLASSIC
- Rebounding from an opening 5-3 loss to Army, Pitt defeated Ohio State 6-5 and won 11-5 over Campbell.
- While no champion was crowned, the Panthers tied the Camels with a 2-1 record and earned a tiebreaker advantage over them with the 11-5 victory.
- Pitt came back to defeat Ohio State, tying the game up in the seventh before Brock Franks hit a walk-off homer with one out in the ninth inning.
- The Panthers led wire-to-wire over the Camels, scoring a run in the first inning before erupting for four in the third and five the next inning.
- Hayden Summers earned his first victory as a Panther with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief against the Buckeyes, allowing just two batters on with a walk and single along with three strikeouts.
- Sky Duff extended his reached base streak to 32 games, as the leadoff hitter went a team-best 6-11 with a double, sacrifice fly, RBI and walk.
THE DUFFMAN
- Sky Duff had a breakout campaign in 2021, his third year in Pittsburgh, and earned spots on the All-ACC Third-Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Second Team.
- Serving as the leadoff batter, Duff still has an active 32-game reached base streak and currently ranks 24th in the nation in walks (12).
- This season he leads the team in walks and has a .333 batting average, 12 hits and five rBI.
- He recorded a nation-best nine walks and three hits on opening weekend.
- Known for his ability to draw walks in his entire career, Duff has 95.
- In the nation he ranked last year 14th in doubles per game (.43), 47th in doubles (18), 67th in hits per game (1.43), 83rd in batting average (.366) and 91st in on-base percentage (.461).
- He was in the ACC fifth in batting average and fourth in on-base percentage and doubles.
- The junior showed an improvement with his power, racking up a team-high 18 doubles.
- He also hit two homers last year after recording his first career homer the previous season.
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
- Opened the season 4-9 with a 5-4 loss at UNC Asheville Tuesday and sweep of College of Charleston (5-4, 6-0 and 5-0) at home in the last week of play.
- Under first-year coach Joey Hammond, Panthers were picked to finish eighth in the Big South Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Redshirt-sophomore infielder Cole Singsank is a returning all-conference player after hitting .340 with 52 hits, 33 RBI, 25 runs and seven stolen bases.
- Redshirt-sophomore catcher Blake Sutton has been the top batter with team-bests of 1.033 OPS, .324 batting average, nine runs, 11 walks and five hit-by-pitches.
