Baseball Drops Series-Finale 15-7 to Canisius

Starting in the third, the Golden Griffins scored in five-straight innings with at least two runs in each frame. Canisius tied it up with three runs and took the lead for good in the fourth. It secured the game-winning run in the fifth, scoring five unanswered runs after a fielding error with two outs and beginning the inning with two strikeouts.
The Panthers had the lead to start in their first trip to the plate. Sky Duff led off with a walk, went to third base on a single to left center from Jeffrey Wehler and scored on a double to left field from Tatem Levins. The bases were then loaded on a walk from Jack Anderson. After a fielder's choice got Wehler out at home, Bryce Hulett knocked in Levins on a sac fly to right field. CJ Funk got Anderson home with a two-out single to centerfield.
Pitt got its next run in the fourth inning. Leadoff batter Jordan Anderson was hit by a pitch, went to second base on a Brock Franks' groundout, stole third base and scored on a double to right center from Wehler.
The Panthers' fifth run came in the sixth inning. Duff and Levins both walked, and Jack Anderson knocked in Duff on a two-out single to left field.
The last two Pitt runs were plated in the eighth inning. Franks and Duff both drew walks and scored on a single through the left side from Kyle Hess.
Pitt returns to action next weekend in the Music City College Classic hosted by Lipscomb, beginning with a matchup against (RV) Bradley Friday at 12 p.m. ET.
NOTES
- Ben Dragani started in his Panthers' debut and went 3.1 innings with four hits, four earned runs, five walks and two strikeouts.
- Baron Stuart also made his Panthers' debut in relief of Dragani.
- Tyler Kennedy made his collegiate debut out of the bullpen.
- Anderson, Duff and Hulett each had three walks.
