Pitt Picks Up Three Wins over Wisconsin

Panthers Complete Day Two of Harvard Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The University of Pittsburgh tennis team completed its second day of action at the Harvard Invitational Saturday evening at the Murr Tennis Center.

Pitt recorded three wins over Wisconsin, including two singles and one doubles match.

"I saw a lot of great things today in both singles and doubles," said head coach Alex Santos. "I am happy with how consistent we have been performing against some very good players. Tomorrow we will have to try and replicate all the positives and add a little more because that is the only way to improve."

Senior Callie Frey turned in a straight-set win over Melissa Pick, 6-4, 7-5, while freshman Camila Moreno also won her singles match defeating Michelle Linden, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

In doubles, the tandem of junior Luisa Varon and freshman Claudia Bartolome outlasted Lexi Keberle and Kelsey Grambeau, 6-4.

Pitt concludes action at the Harvard Invitational Sunday, Nov. 4 taking on the host team at 3 p.m.
