NORFOLK, VA.–Senior Elizabeth Adams and sophomore Gabrielle Catanzariti faced strong competition as they represented Pitt’s women’s tennis team at the ITA Regional Indoor Championship, held on Old Dominion’s campus.
Playing as doubles partners, Adams and Catanzariti advanced to the second round after winning a hard-fought victory over Old Dominion’s Nika Khmolovska/Juliana Pires 9-8(6). Next, Pitt’s duo faced the second-seeded Lindsey Hardenbergh/Erin Vierra (Virginia), but fell 8-1.
Competing in singles action, Adams took on Diana Ivanova of the host school in the first round, and was defeated in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).
