Women's Tennis Wins Season Opener

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh women’s tennis held off Bucknell to win its season opener, 4-3 at the Oxford Athletic Club North in Wexford. Pitt begins the year 1-0.
Pitt won the doubles point first as the No. 1 duo of sophomore Elizabeth Adams and senior Kristy Borza recorded an 8-3 victory. Then, junior Sabrina Visram and senior Christie D’Achille posted an 8-2 victory in No. 2 doubles.
In singles action, Adams was the first to secure a win as she shutout her opponent (6-0, 6-0) in games.
Later in the match, Borza picked up a win, while D’Achille tallied the deciding point in the No. 5 slot.
