Adams Records Fourth Consecutive Win

PITTSBURGH—Improving its win streak to four in Big East wins in the first weekend of spring play, the University of Pittsburgh women’s tennis team defeated St. John’s 5-2 at The Club in Monroeville, this evening.
Sophomore Elizabeth Adams won her fourth match of the spring with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 1 singles. Earlier in the match she teamed with senior Kristy Borza for an 8-3 win in doubles.
The team of freshman Adela Aprodu and junior Shannon Benic also won in double, giving Pitt its first point of the contest. Aprodu would later earn a win in No. 6 singles.
Junior Sabrina Visram and senior Christie D’Achille tallied the other two points for the Panthers, thanks to win in singles action.
Pitt faces West Virginia Wednesday, Feb. 11, at noon.
