Due to an injury timeout in No. 2 singles action, the match was called after Syracuse won its third point and freshmen Kristy Borza (Beaver , Pa./Beaver Area) and Christie D'achille's (Gibsonia, Pa./North Allegheny) matches were ended, as well.

Earlier, the Panthers dropped the doubles point, but refused to go down without a fight, coming back in two of three matches.
The duo of senior Emily Hughes (
Playing in the No.1 spot, Borza and Friedman went down 1-5 in the match but battled back to 4-6, before falling 4-8.
On the No. 3 court, junior Annie Davies (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) and senior Becky Emmers (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) also trailed early, 2-5, but pushed forward before falling 5-8.
The Panthers move to the consolation bracket and face Seton Hall at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
