Softball Earns Split Against Red Storm

PITTSBURGH--The University of Pittsburgh softball teams earns the split after picking up a 5-2 victory in game two of the Panthers doubleheader against St. John's at Trees Field, this afternoon. The Panthers record improves to 15-12 overall and 1-1 in Big East play.

The Red Storm got on the board first due to an infield error that allowed one runner to score in the second inning.
Junior Laura Belardinelli (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) earned the win from the mound. Belardinelli (7-4) pitched all seven innings, while allowing six hits and fanning four batters.
The Panthers continue its four-team homestand with a doubleheader against Seton Hall tomorrow, March 26, beginning at noon.
