Sean Sullivan is entering his second season for the Pitt women’s basketball program in 2020-21 as the Director of Video.
Sullivan’s main job responsibilities include breaking down film and studying opponents’ film, creating weekly recruiting materials and overseeing the Pitt women’s basketball practice players.
In his first season with the Panthers, Sullivan used his vast knowledge to provide the Pitt coaching staff with detailed film breakdowns of opponents while also helping take the recruiting efforts of the program to the next level with his creativity. The Iowa native also oversaw the Panthers practice players which helped prepare Pitt for battle in the ACC.
Prior to Pitt, Sullivan was a key member of the staff at Penn State where he served for the past two seasons as the Nittany Lions women’s basketball director of scouting & digital technology.
Beginning as a manager with the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball program, Sullivan assisted with specialty stats and contributed to the on-court efforts for four seasons before moving into an undergraduate video assistant role. As a video assistant, he helped his alma mater break down opponent’s game footage and assist in scouting report preparation.
Sullivan spent two seasons as the video coordinator for the Iowa women’s program, while also supporting efforts with recruiting, student staff oversight, summer camps and planning selected team events.
Upon earning his bachelor’s degree in sport recreation management with an emphasis in coaching from Iowa, Sullivan spent the summer after graduation as a video coordinator with USA Basketball. His stint with the organization took him to Toronto for the Pan Am Games, where he helped the USA women’s squad claim a silver medal.
