Pitt Travels to Boston College in Search of First ACC Win of the Season

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team travels to face Boston College Sunday at 6 p.m. on the ACC Network. Both squads are in search of their first ACC win of the season.

THE OPENING TIP

Pitt dropped their first game of the 2026 calendar year, a 74-55 decision against Wake Forest in its ACC home opener Thursday evening.
Lauren Rust posted a career-high 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting along with five rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Fatima Diakhate recorded her seventh double-double of the season and her second in as many games as she finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and a block.
Theresa Hagans Jr. dished out eight assists to match her career high.

SERIES HISTORY

The two teams have met 57 times, with Boston College leading the all-time series 36-21.
Pitt and Boston College met regularly from 1983-2005. The series took a hiatus when Boston College left the Big East for the ACC, but the series resumed in 2014 when Pitt joined the ACC.
The Panthers prevailed 79-66 in the most recent matchup last season.
Pitt is looking to extend their series win streak to two games and pick up their first ACC win of the season.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

Boston College is led in scoring by sophomore guard Lily Carmody at 12.0 points per game. Carmody is 79.4% from the free throw line, the sixth highest percentage in the conference.
Athena Tomlinson runs the Eagles' offense, averaging 5.3 assists per game, the fourth most in the ACC.
