JUNIOR (2005-06): Annie Davies ppened the season battling with a knee injury...started the season playing in the number four slot but moved into the number three spot by season[apos]s end...posted a 7-5, 6-3 win in the Big East Tournament match against Seton Hall...posted an 18-11doubles record...starts her senior season just 11 wins shy of joining the 100-Victory Club...Big East Academic All-Star and ITA Scholar Athlete. SOPHOMORE (2005): Led the team in doubles wins with a 15-5 record and went 15-12 in singles play...named team MVP for the second straight year...became eighth player in school history to earn such honors two times during a career...moved into 12th place on the all-time list for most doubles victories in a season...named to the ITA All-Academic team for the second consecutive year. FRESHMAN (2004): Finished the season with 15-9 singles record and 14-14 slate in doubles play...29 combined victories were most on the team...voted co-MVP of the Panthers...named a Big East Academic All-Star...also named to the ITA All-Academic Team. HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Parkersburg High School where she played for Gene Marchetti...finished undefeated her junior year in doubles and was state doubles champion...was a state semifinalist in singles her sophomore and junior seasons. PERSONAL: Born April 25, 1985...daughter of Thomas and Sandra Davies...has one sister, Ellen...undeclared major. Coach says: 'Annie has a very balanced game. She is able to use a lot of top spin or to attack you. She[apos]s very consistent, can change the pace or direction of the bar, and is a very good doubles player. More importantly, she also adds the element of leadership in terms of academics.'
