Panthers Host Lakers on Tuesday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Panthers (19-7, 5-4 ACC) host Mercyhurst (5-16, 5-7 NEC) this Tuesday afternoon for the first time this season. Pitt won their only game against the Lakers last year, 16-6, in seven innings.
The Panthers went 4-1 last week and won their road series at Louisville this past weekend. Pitt have now won both of their ACC road series this season.
Top of the Order
• SS Caden Dulin was named ACC Co-Player of the Week for his performance this past week. Dulin went 12-for-26 (.462) with three home runs, three doubles, eight RBI, eight runs scored while slugging .923 in Pitt's five games. He went 4-for-6 with two home runs and five RBIs in Pitt's series-clinching win at Louisville on Sunday.
• The Oakland Lumber Company is open for business and Pitt's offense is one of the best in the country. They lead the country in base on balls (214), rank second in HR per game (2.15) and OBP (.465), third in home runs (56), fourth in scoring (10.1) and seventh in SLG (.566).
• The Panther offense has slugged 48 home runs in their last 20 games. They have driven in 93 runs via the long ball, hitting five grand slams and eleven three-run home runs over that stretch.
• Pitt leads the entire country in walks this season with 214 walks. Lorenzo Carrier also leads the country, walking 35 times this year.
• OF Lorenzo Carrier is one of the best hitters in the country through the first seven weeks of the season. He leads the country in walks (35), ranks 2nd the country in RBI (48), SLG (.943), OBP (.594), 14th in home runs (12) and 16th in AVG (.425). He was named by D1Baseball as the No. 1 outfielder in the country through the first six weeks of the season.
• Pitt won each of their non-conference games last week. They went on the road and beat Kent State, 13-4, before walking-off Youngstown State at home on Wednesday, 8-7.
