Panthers Fall to No.3 Stanford

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt women's soccer team (4-4-2, 0-2-0 ACC) dropped its final match of a six-game homestand Sunday afternoon, falling 6-0 to No. 3 Stanford at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
The Cardinal (7-1-1, 1-0-1 ACC) struck early in the first half with a goal from Eleanor Klinger and added two more before the break to take a 3-0 halftime lead.
Stanford continued its offensive dominance in the second half, netting three additional goals to secure the road victory.
Pitt junior goalkeeper Abby Reisz recorded a career-high nine saves. Senior forward Margaret Wilde and midfielder Celine Ottah each registered two shots to lead the Panthers' offense.
