Panthers Travel to University Park for Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational

PITTSBURGH – Pitt is set to travel to University Park, Pa. for the first away meet of the 2025 season, the annual Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, hosted by Penn State at the Blue & White Golf Courses. The women's 6k race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 5.2-mile race at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, September 12th.
The women's team will compete against nine other teams including ACC rival Syracuse and Mid-Atlantic Regional rival, Penn State, who earned the No. 3 spot in the preseason rankings. The men's competition features eight other teams, led by Penn State at No. 5 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional preseason rankings.
The meet is free and open to the public. Spectator parking will be available in the West Deck for $1.00 an hour.

LAST TIME OUT – PANTHER OPENER
Two weeks prior at the Panther Opener, held in Pittsburgh's very own Schenley Park, both the men's and women's teams placed first overall. Leading the men's team in first place was Thomas McMahon with a time of 14:45.2. Following McMahon was Luke Simpson with a time of 14:45.3 and Nolan McGinn with a time of 14:47.8. Ella Cook led the women's team in second place overall with a time of 17:40.1. Following Cook was Maureen Cheruiyot with a time of 17:42.9 and Camy Kiser with a time of 17:51.0.
