Ferreira, Reisz Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Pitt men's soccer's Santiago Ferreira and women's soccer's Abby Reisz have been named PNC Achievers of the Week for their standout performances last week.
Junior midfielder Ferreira scored the lone goal in the Panthers' 1-0 season-opening win over Quinnipiac on Thursday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field. In the ninth minute, he finished a Josh Hardin cross with a header for his second career goal. Pitt maintained control the rest of the way, using a mix of possession and progression to secure the shutout.
Reisz, a junior goalkeeper, posted a career-high seven saves and earned her first clean sheet at Pitt in Sunday's 3-0 victory at Dayton. She has started both of Pitt's road matches this season and is now 4-0 in goal for the Panthers over the past two years.
The men's team visits Georgetown on Friday, while the women's team returns home to host Cal State Fullerton.
