Pitt Hosts No. 15 Clemson for Final ACC Weekend

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt Panthers host the No. 15 ranked Clemson Tigers in the final ACC series of the season this weekend.
In 2022, the last time Clemson visited Charles L. Cost Field, Pitt earned a series win and a two-game sweep of the then No. 20 ranked team in the country. Pitt took a game in their series at Clemson last season.

• The Panthers thumped Penn State at PNC Park on Tuesday, 15-1 in seven innings. Pittsburgh native, Drew Lafferty, threw a complete game and allowed just one run over seven innings while striking out six.
• Sebastian Pisacreta tallied ten hits, three home runs, nine RBIs and two doubles in Pitt's last five games. Pisacreta had the first multiple-home run game of his career last Saturday at Wake Forest. He went 3-4 with three RBIs at PNC Park on Tuesday.
• Pitt's come-from-behind win at Wake Forest last Saturday was the tenth time the Panthers have tied or taken the lead in a game in the eighth inning or later this season.
• This season, Pitt has nine comeback victories when trailing in the fifth inning or later. Three of which have come when Pitt was down to their final three outs.
• First baseman Luke Cantwell is hitting .348 with 63 hits, 43 RBI, 18 doubles and a triple this year. Cantwell is fourth in the ACC in doubles. He is second all-time in program history in hit-by-pitches with 30.
• David Pedanou is 20-20 in stolen base attempts this year. He has swiped the most bags in a season by a Panther since 2008. In the outfield, he has 90 putouts with one outfield assist and has yet to record an error this year.
• LHP Ethan Firoved ranks second in the ACC in saves with eight. In twenty-one appearances this year, Firoved has a 2.96 ERA with one win and 66 strikeouts. He now has over 150 strikeouts as a Panther.
