Pitt Opens ACC Play Sunday at Clemson

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team opens ACC play on Sunday afternoon against Clemson. Tipoff at Littlejohn Coliseum is set for 2 p.m. The contest will air on ACCNX.

THE OPENING TIP

Pitt enters conference play following a 79-44 loss at Mississippi State in the ACC-SEC Challenge on Dec. 4.
Carla Viegas led the Panthers with 15 points, knocking down 5-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc.
Mikayla Johnson added 10 points and six rebounds.
Fatima Diakhate finished with eight points and four rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY

Sunday marks the 22^nd meeting between Pitt and Clemson.
The Panthers lead the all-time series 11-10 and carry a two-game winning streak into the matchup.
Pitt won the most recent meeting, a 72-59 home victory on Feb. 23, 2025.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

Clemson enters Sunday 6-4 overall and 0-1 in the ACC.
Three of the Tigers' four losses have come against ranked opponents: South Carolina, Louisville and Michigan State.
Two Tigers average double figures - Mia Moore (12.6 ppg), who also leads the team in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and assists (4.9 apg) and Rusne Augustinaite (10.8 ppg), who shoots 43% from beyond the arc and averages 2.5 made threes per game.
Hadley Periman has totaled 10 blocks through nine games.
