Panthers Return to the Pete to Face Central Connecticut

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team returns to the Petersen Events Center to play their third game in four days when the Panthers face Central Connecticut Monday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game can be viewed on ACCNX.

THE OPENING TIP

Pitt beat Chicago State, 67-53, in the second game of the Florida Gulf Classic in Naples, Fla.
Fatima Diakhate and Mikayla Johnson recorded double doubles in the victory.
Diakhate tallied her fourth double-double with a career-high 14 rebounds and 12 points. Johnson earned her first double-double of the season and the second of her career while pacing the Panthers with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Panthers finished 1-1 in the event, losing to Ball State on Friday, 55-41.

SERIES HISTORY

This will be the third meeting between Pitt and Central Connecticut, with Pitt undefeated in the all-time series, 2-0.
The first meeting dates to Nov. 28, 2003, when the Panthers beat the Blue Devils 75-59 at home.
The two teams last met on Nov. 11, 2019, with Pitt prevailing 81-73.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS

The Blue Devils are 0-5 thus far in the 2025-26 season.
Senior Forward Luca Noin and Freshman Guard Kiyah Lewis are the Blue Devils' two main options on offense, as both are averaging 13.0 points per game.
Central Connecticut finished the 2024-25 season 11-19 and 10-6 in conference.
The Blue Devils fell to Chicago State by 10 in the NEC Quarterfinals.
