Pitt to Play Lafayette in Final Game of November Home Stretch

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team will play their seventh and final game at home in the month of November when Lafayette comes to the Petersen Events Center for a 6 p.m. tipoff Tuesday. Tune in to ACCNX to watch.

The Opening Tip

The Pitt Panthers defeated the Robert Morris Colonials by a score of 63-54 on Pittsburgh Day at the Petersen Events Center Saturday afternoon.
Pitt overcame a 19-point first quarter deficit, outscoring Robert Morris 55-27 in the final three quarters of play.
The Panthers used an 18-3 run to fuel a third quarter comeback, outscoring the Colonials 24-10 in the period.
Pitt advanced to 26-0 all-time against Robert Morris.
Mikayla Johnson scored 20 points, 17 in the second half, to lead Pitt to victory.
Angel Jones tallied her third straight double-digit outing with 14 points and three assists.
Fatima Diakhate neared a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Series History

Tuesday will mark the fifth meeting between Pitt and Lafayette.
Pitt leads the series 3-1.

The two Pennsylvania schools last met four years ago at the Petersen Events Center, with Pitt winning 72-63.

Scouting the Leopards

Lafayette is 3-3 this season. The Leopards started the season 0-3 with losses to Villanova, Rider and Le Moyne before three straight victories over Saint Peter's, Saint Francis and Wagner.
The Leopards were 10-21 overall last season, falling in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament to conclude their season.
Lafayette has four averaging double figures, led by Teresa Kiewiet with 12.5 points per game.
