Pitt Drops Home Contest to Lafayette, 76-59

PITTSBURGH — Pitt fell to Lafayette, 76-59, Tuesday evening at the Petersen Events Center.
Theresa Hagans Jr. paced the Panthers with a team-high 16 points and six rebounds, while Fatima Diakhate added 12 points to go along with nine boards. Angel Jones contributed a season-high six assists, and Megan Hollingsworth pulled down a career-best six rebounds.
How It Happened
Pitt opened strong, using 16 points in the paint to take a 21–19 lead after the first quarter. Lafayette countered with a 25-point second frame, flipping the momentum and sending the Panthers into halftime trailing 44–39. The third quarter remained tight, with the Leopards maintaining a six-point advantage heading into the fourth. Lafayette then seized control with a decisive 13–2 run in the final period to close out the game.
