Jansen Sets New Program Record at Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas - The Pitt swimming team recorded five top-eight finishes on the third day of the Texas Invitational.
Claire Jansen led the Panthers with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke, setting a program record with a time of 51.03. Sydney Gring also placed in the event, taking sixth in 52.14.
Julian Koch added another second-place finish for Pitt, touching in 19.21 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Both Pitt relay squads reached the top eight in the 400-yard medley relay. The women finished sixth in 3:32.82, while the men also took sixth in 3:08.80.
The Panthers return to action Friday for the final day of the meet.
