Panthers Close Out Texas Invitational Day 4 with Five Program Records

AUSTIN, Texas - Pitt closed out the Texas Invitational on Friday with two program records and three top-eight finishes at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Julian Koch opened the men's 400-yard freestyle relay with a 41.15 leg, setting a program record. On the women's side, the Panthers posted a school-record time of 3:12.88 to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, with Avery Kudlac leading off in a program-record 48.28.
Alan Vergine added another record for the Panthers, finishing sixth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:42.15.
Claire Jansen set her second program record of the week, placing second in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:50.47.
Pitt will return to action Saturday, Jan. 10, for a road meet at West Virginia.
