
Panthers Resume Indoor Action Saturday at Nittany Lion Challenge

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Panthers will resume track and field action on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Challenge, hosted by Penn State at the Ashenfelter Multi-Sport Complex and Indoor Track. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's shot put. Track events start promptly at 11:30 a.m. with the women's one mile run and follow a rolling schedule.

YSU ICEBREAKER HIGHLIGHTS
Pitt registered 11 event wins at the YSU Icebreaker on December 6, 2024.
- Sophomore Norrah Lemongo collected two event wins, the women's elite weight throw (18.63m), and the women's elite shot put (15.23m), recording a new personal bests in both events.
- Freshman Faith Dennis recorded two individual event wins, and one relay win on the day. A native of Detal, Nigeria, Dennis won the 60-meter dash (7.57) and the 200-meter race (24.96) before helping the 4x400-meter relay squad to a top finish (3:46.84).
- Thomas McDonough raced to first in the men's 200-meter (21.18).
- Junior Alesia Rengle claimed the women's high jump crown with a personal best 1.75m leap.
- Transfer student Je'Nyia Burton won the women's 400-meter race (54.39) and notched a top 10 program time.
- Mackenzie Sullivan won the women's 800-meter race (2:22.11) for the third straight time at the YSU Icebreaker.
- Uri Arnon won the men's triple jump with a new personal best mark of 14.71m.
- The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Thomas McDonough, Nigel Hussey, Devin Nugent and Malik Ricketts concluded the day with a meet record and first place effort (3:11.31).
NEXT UP
The Panthers travel to Blacksburg, Va. to visit ACC foe Virginia Tech for the Hokie Invitational on January 24 and 25 before returning to University Park the following weekend for the Penn State National Open.
