
Bischke Named Preseason Top 50 Second Baseman

PITTSBURGH - Tyler Bischke has been named as a "Preseason Top 50 Second Baseman" by D1Baseball.com. Bischke was ranked as the No. 16 second baseman in their countdown.
At the University of New Orleans last season, Bischke was named First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-Region, Second Team All-Louisiana and was the 2023 Southland Baseball Student-Athlete of the Year. The Pittsburgh, PA native hit .309 with 73 hits, 54 RBIs, 16 doubles, 12 home runs and a .530 slugging percentage during his 2023 campaign. Throughout his collegiate career, Bischke has played in 166 games while collecting 182 hits, 151 runs scored, 102 RBIs, 38 doubles and 20 home runs.
The transfer second baseman went 5-5 with five runs scored, four runs batted in and three walks in Pitt's two exhibition games this fall.
Bischke played both baseball and basketball at local Hampton High School where he was selected First Team All-State twice for baseball. He would help his travel ball team, the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs, win the CABA World Series Title in 2018.
