Panthers Post Second Highest Team Score of the Season
CHAPEL HILL, NC – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (3-6-0, 1-4-0 ACC) earned their second highest team score of the season (196.125) – fighting hard until the end but came up short to the North Carolina Tar Heels (3-8-0, 1-4-0 ACC) 196.650 Friday night at Carmichael Arena.
BARS | 49.050
The Panthers started the evening off strong – securing a 49.050 team score on bars. Reyna Garvey saw herself back in the lineup for the first time this season – earning a 9.825. Junior Jordyn Ewing posted the highest score for the Panthers on this rotation (9.850) after sticking her dismount. Freshman Emily Todd started her journey to the All-Around – earning a 9.825 for her routine. Jah'Liyah Bedminster anchored the event for Pitt – securing a strong 9.800.
VAULT | 49.125
Kennedy Duke kicked off the second rotation for the Panthers – earning a 9.800. Freshman Julie Rottum Madso earned a career-high score tonight with her 9.825. The Panthers saw two more 9.825 scores from fifth years Shruthi Anand and Ciara Ward. Bedminster anchored the event yet again – posting a 9.850. Her score earned her the second place overall on the event. Pitt's 49.125 topped the Tar Heels' 49.100 on vault.
FLOOR | 49.225
Ward secured a season-high score of 9.850 to kick off the Panthers' strongest rotation of the evening. Todd kept the momentum going – securing a career-high 9.875 for her routine. Bedminster continued on trend as she matched her own career-high 9.900. Her score secured her second place overall on floor. Ewing topped off the third rotation for Pitt with her 9.850 routine. Pitt's 49.225 is their second highest team floor score of the season so far.
BEAM | 48.725
Sophomore Duke posted a personal best 9.800 tonight on beam. Garvey secured a 9.850 for her routine. Copperwheat also posted a 9.850 tonight. Both Garvey and Copperwheat tied for the first place overall title this evening on beam.

The Panthers will return home as they welcome NC State in their final home ACC match up of the season. This dual meet will take place on Sunday, Feb. 25 with a 4 p.m. start.
