PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women’s basketball team (6-11, 0-4 ACC) will be looking for their first ACC win of the season Sunday afternoon as they travel to Chestnut Hill, MA to take on the Boston College Eagles at Conte Forum. Sunday’s conference game will tip at 12:00 pm and air live on ACC Network with Sam Ravech and Jasmine Thomas on the call.

THE OPENING TIP
- Pitt returns to the road Sunday for a battle with the Boston College Eagles at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill. Sunday’s game will tip at 12pm and air on ACC Network with Sam Ravech and Jasmine Thomas on the call.
- Despite an off night last time out, senior Liatu King has been the best player on the floor for Pitt all year long. With her third bucket of the game, King notched her 900th career point in a Pitt jersey. So far this season, she is averaging 19.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.9 blocks while shooting 55.2% from the floor.
- King currently ranks inside the top-5 in the ACC in multiple categories including fifth in scoring (19.4 ppg), second in rebounding (9.9 rpg), third in blocks (1.9 bpg), third in field goal percentage (55.2%) and second in double-doubles (nine).
- Sophomore guard Aislin Malcolm is enjoying her best season as a Panther as she is averaging 10.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 39.4% from three-point range which leads the ACC. She has scored in double figures a career-high nine times so far this season.
- The Panthers have been receiving contributions from different bench players throughout this season as they have four games with at least 25 bench points. Last time out, Jala Jordan led the team with 11 points on three made triples in 22 minutes of work.

KING BY THE NUMBERS
- Senior Liatu King is doing things on the court that Pitt fans haven’t seen in a very long time, especially of late.
- So far this season, King has scored a career-high 330 points which ranks second in the ACC and ranks 14th overall in the NCAA. Her 133 made field goals also leads the ACC and ranks fifth in the nation.
- The 330 points through the first 17 games are the most by a Pitt player since Shavonte Zellous (410) in 2008-09 when she earned All-America honors.
- Her 208 points through the first 10 games of the season were the most by a Pitt player since Lorri Johnson (all-time leading scorer) in 1990-91 (238). Johnson earned All-America honors for her play during that season for Pitt.
- King opened her season on fire as she has secured seven double-doubles in the first 10 games of the season. She became the first Panther in over 40 years to do that.
- King posted five straight games scoring 22+ points from Nov. 21-Dec. 3 to become the first Panther since Shavonte Zellous in 2009 to record five straight games with at least 22 points.
- King is the first player in program history to post five straight games with at least 22 points while shooting at least 50% from the floor in all five games.
- She has scored at least 30 points in two games this season, marking the most in a season by a Pitt player since Brianna Kiesel in 2014-15. She is also one of just two players in the nation this season with at least two games of 30+ points while shooting at least 70% from the floor (Ayoleka Lee - Kansas State).
- King is one of two players in the country (Cameron Brink - Stanford) to have at least two games with 20+ points, 8+ rebounds, 4+ blocks and 2+ assists. She is also the only player in the nation to post three games with at least 22 points, 11 total rebounds and five offensive rebounds so far this season.
- Her eight 20+ point games through the first 16 games of a season are the most by a Pitt player since Shavonte Zellous (13) in 2008-09.
- Her ninth double-double through the first 16 games are the most by a Pitt player since Marcedes Walker (nine) in 2007-08.
- King scored at least 10 points in the first 16 games of the season which marked the most consecutive games in double figures to start a season since Brianna Kiesel in 2013-14 (21).
- Her 169 rebounds through the first 17 games of the season are the most by a Pitt player since Marcedes Walker had 175 in her first 17 games of the 2007-08 season.
- She is the first Pitt player since Wanda Randolph in 1976-77 to average at least 19.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks this late in the season (17 games).
- No Pitt player has ever averaged at least 20 ppg, 10 rpg and 2 spg for a season in program history. King is currently averaging 19.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals.

SERIES HISTORY – BOSTON COLLEGE
- This meeting marks the 55th of all-time between the two programs with Boston College owning the 34-20 lead in the series.
- The 55th meeting against the Eagles marks the third most against an opponent (Syracuse - 70, Villanova - 57) for Pitt in program history.
- Pitt won the last meeting between the two teams on Feb. 16, 2023 by the score of 75-64 at the Pete.
- The Panthers are 7-19 in games played in Boston in the all-time series. Pitt’s last win in Chestnut Hill came on Feb. 16, 2021 as they downed the Eagles 83-80.
- Overall, Boston College has won four of the last five games in the series.
- The first meeting in the all-time series came on Jan. 31, 1983 as Pitt won 70-62 in Chestnut Hill.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- Boston College enters Sunday’s game with a 9-8 overall record and a 1-3 ACC mark. They have lost two straight including a 98-48 road loss to #18 Notre Dame Thursday night.
- The Eagles are being led offensively by Andrea Daley who is averaging 15.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals while shooting 55.1% from the floor. Teya Sidberry is averaging 13.3 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds while shooting 46.9% from the floor so far this season.
- Dontavia Waggoner is averaging 12.3 points and 5.9 rebounds while notching a team-high 54 steals while T’yana Todd is averaging 11.5 points while draining a team-best 26 triples.
- As a team, the Eagles are averaging 74.9 points per game while allowing 67.2 points per contest. They are shooting 44.5% from the floor and just 27.6% from three-point range while allowing opponents to shoot 44.6% from the floor and 33.1% from deep.
LAST TIME OUT – VS. #15 LOUISVILLE
- Trailing by as little as three in the third quarter, the Panthers went cold offensively, and the #15 Louisville Cardinals earned the 74-44 road win Thursday night.
- Jala Jordan was the lone Panther in double figures as she netted 11 points including a season-high three triples. Liatu King finished her quiet game with six points and eight rebounds while Rapuluchi Ayodele netted six points and seven rebounds off the bench in the loss.
- The Cardinals received balanced scoring in the win as they had seven players score at least eight points while Sydney Taylor led the way with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists in the win.
- As a team, Pitt was held to just 36.4% shooting while the Cardinals shot 52.6% from the floor. The Cardinals also won the rebounding battle 31-29 while also turning 24 Pitt turnovers into 34 points.
DIFFERENT BENCH PLAYERS STEPPING UP
- With a rotating lineup of late, the Panthers have been receiving some solid play from different players off the bench.
- Last time out against #15 Louisville, forward Jala Jordan led the Panthers with 11 points and three rebounds while connecting on a season-high three triples in 22 minutes of work. Rapuluchi Ayodele also provided Pitt with six points and seven rebounds (four offensive) in the loss.
- Against Georgia Tech, Bella Perkins came off the bench against Georgia Tech and provided a big spark as she played 26 minutes and netted 13 points and two rebounds while connecting on three triples.
- So far this season, the Pitt bench has four games with at least 25 points including a season-high 47 points in the win over Lehigh.
- In the win over Lehigh earlier this season, the duo of Bella Perkins and Jala Jordan combined for a season high 45 points off the Pitt bench.
- Jordan tied a career-high with 23 points while Perkins netted a career-high 22 points on four made triples.
- The 45 points combined off the bench for the duo marked the most in a single game by teammates in the ACC since Nov. 17, 2013. The UNC duo of Allisha Gray (30 points) and Jessica Washington (16 points) combined for 46 points in a win over UCLA.
- Jordan and Perkins are the first ACC teammates in over 15 seasons to each score 22+ points off the bench in the same game. They are one of just five sets of teammates to score 22+ points each in the same game in all Power 5 Conferences over the past 15 seasons.
