Game Storylines

• The Panthers return to primetime for a third consecutive week when they travel to Virginia Tech for an ACC Network telecast at 8 p.m.

• Pitt has won three consecutive games against Virginia Tech, including last season's 45-29 triumph at Acrisure Stadium.

• Dating back to 2001, when both schools were Big East members, Pitt has won 10 of the past 14 games against Virginia Tech.

• This year's encounter marks Pitt's first night game at Lane Stadium since 2002, when the Panthers knocked off the undefeated and No. 3-ranked Hokies, 28-21.

• Pitt is 3-7 all-time in Blacksburg, including a 2-2 mark under Pat Narduzzi. In their most recent visit, the Panthers claimed a 28-7 win during the 2021 ACC title season.

• Since 2015, Pat Narduzzi has directed Pitt to 41 victories in ACC play, the second-highest win total during that span. Pitt trails only Clemson (60).

• Freshman linebacker Rasheem Biles has blocked punts in each of the last two games. Biles is tied for the national lead with two blocked kicks overall.

• Pitt is one of just six teams that will play 11 "Power Conference" opponents in 2023, joining Colorado, Louisville, Purdue, Utah and West Virginia.
