2025: ACC Receiver of the Week (Week 9)... 49 receptions for 695 yards and five touchdowns; also has 159 kickoff return yards and one punt return touchdown...ranks sixth in the ACC in combined kick return yards (336) and 12th in all-purpose yards per game (86.67)...Pitt’s leading receiver; top-10 in the ACC in receiving TDs, receiving yards, and receiving yards per game...against NC State, caught seven passes for 112 yards and a touchdown in the first half before leaving with an injury—still finished second in the ACC in receiving yards that week...has seven games with at least 50 receiving yards, third most in the ACC...his six games with at least 75 all-purpose yards rank fourth in the ACC.
2024: Played in all 13 games, starting 12…had 46 catches for 537 yards (11.7 avg.) and three touchdowns…had six rushes for 26 yards (4.3 avg.)…averaged 20.9 yards per kickoff return (22 for 459 yards) and 6.5 per punt return (10 for 65 yards)…his combined 524 kick return yards led the ACC and ranked 13th nationally…posted a career-high 105 receiving yards with a touchdown on seven catches (15.0 avg.) against Kent State…had a career-high eight catches for 81 yards (10.1 avg.) with a TD at SMU…posted career rushing highs with 28 yards on three carries (9.3 avg.) against Toledo in the GameAbove Sports Bowl…also caught a 2-point conversion pass in the third overtime against Toledo.
2023: Played in all 12 games, starting three at wide receiver...also emerged as Pitt's primary kickoff returner, earning Honorable Mention All-ACC as a return specialist...starting assignments came in three consecutive games (Louisville, Wake Forest and Notre Dame)...had 15 catches for 122 yards (8.1 avg.) and a touchdown...also netted 72 yards on 10 rushes (7.2 avg.)...led Pitt with a 23.1-yard kickoff return average (15 returns for 347 yards)...twice had a season-high four catches (Wake Forest and Duke)…had a season-high 49 receiving yards (on two catches) vs. Louisville…first career TD catch was a seven-yarder against Wake Forest…achieved season highs with three rushes for 20 yards (6.7 avg.) against North Carolina…also had a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown—tied for the longest by an FBS player in 2023—against the Tar Heels…it was Pitt's first kickoff return TD since Nov. 20, 2021 (Israel Abanikanda, 98 yards vs. Virginia)…it was the Panthers’ first 100-yard kickoff return TD since Nov. 5, 2016 (Quadree Henderson vs. Miami)…Johnson became the first true freshman with a kick return TD since Quadree Henderson in 2015.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned stature as one of Pennsylvania’s top wide receiver prospects…compiled more than 1,000 all-purpose yards as a senior (800 yards receiving and 250 rushing)…Pennsylvania Football Writers All-Class 6A…first team All-York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) as a wide receiver and return specialist…named MVP of the Big 33 Football Classic, catching nine passes for 161 yards (17.9 avg.), including a 31-yard touchdown with 1:15 to play that gave Pennsylvania a 31-27 win over Maryland…rated one of Pennsylvania’s top 20 overall prospects by Rivals (No. 13), 247Sports (No. 16) and ESPN (No. 18)…also an accomplished basketball player, wrestler and track and field performer…selected the YAIAA Boys Athlete of the Year for 2021-22…played under Coach Levi Murphy.
