No. 21 Pitt Women’s Soccer Set to Host Bucknell

PITTSBURGH – The No. 21 undefeated Pitt Panthers (3-0-0, 0-0-0 ACC) are set to host the Bucknell Bison (2-1-0) at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Sunday, Aug. 27 with a 1:00 p.m. start.

THE SERIES
- Sunday's matchup with the Bisons will be the fifth meeting between the two programs.
- The Panthers are looking to take the lead on the series with the Bisons as Pitt is 2-2 all-time against Bucknell.
SCOUTING THE BISON
- Last time out, the Bison fell to No. 20 Georgetown with a late goal from Brianne Riley Thursday afternoon.
- Prior to the matchup against Georgetown, Bucknell was 2-0 for the first time since 2016.
- The Bison have yet to defeat a nationally ranked team in their program history, however they did manage to score a point against No. 17 West Virginia in a 0-0 draw last season.
- The Bison's defense comprised of seasoned veterans continued to hold a strong force to the Hoyas but ultimately fell after a single goal slipped its way to the back of the Bucknell net.
RECAPPING THURSDAY'S WIN
- The No. 21 Pitt Panthers produced a shutout, 1-0, against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Thursday evening at Zoeller Field.
- The winning goal came at the tenth minute when junior Sarah Schupansky launched a corner perfectly for freshman Lainie Fuchs to find an opening in the back of the net. This beautiful header was Fuchs first collegiate goal.
- Pitt continued to dominate the remainder of the evenings contest with 25-10 shots, 11-3 shots on goal and 15-6 corners.

- The Panthers will remain home at Ambrose Urbanic Field as they host Duquesne in a 7:00 pm matchup on Thursday, Aug. 31.
