CLEMSON, S.C. – Pitt dropped the final game of the three-game series to No. 6 Clemson by the score of 11-2. The Panthers struggled to silence the Tiger bats in the six-Inning run rule loss at McWhorter Stadium, early Sunday afternoon.
Sarah Seamans extended her 16-game on-base streak with a double to center field in the top of the first inning, her 10th double of the season.
McKenzie Clark picked up where she left of yesterday for the Tigers, hitting a solo shot to left center field off the first pitch of the at-bat. The Tigers then took an early 3-0 lead off back-to-back singles from Valerie Cagle and Maddie Moore.
The Panthers loaded the bases in the second inning with Kylie Griggs (fielder's choice), Haylie Brunson (hit by pitch), and Kayla Lane (single). Yvonne Whaley answered the Tigers by crushing a two-run single to left center to make the score 3-2.
Maddie Moore led the Tigers to a five-run second inning with a grand slam to left center field in the bottom of the second, making the score 8-2.
Adriana Romano took the circle with one out in the second inning and held the Tigers to just one hit through three innings. Romano finished with three earned runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Alia Logoleo hit a three-run home run with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 11-2 and end the game via a run rule.
