Panthers Come Up Short Against No. 6 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Abby Edwards anchored Pitt with another strong performance in the circle, but the Panthers ultimately came up short and fell to No. 6 Clemson, 2-0, during the second game of a three-game series at McWhorter Stadium, Saturday afternoon. The Panthers drop to 21-21 on the season and 3-13 in conference play.
Edwards held the Tigers to just two runs on five with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Edwards started the game off by retiring six of the first seven batters faced, including striking out three of the first four batters.
Senior Bailey Drapola led the Panthers by going 2-for-2 at the plate as the Panthers picked up five hits against the Tigers. Graduate student Sarah Seamans extended her on-base streak to a season-high 15 games.
McKenzie Clark had the lone scoring play of the game, a two-run homer in the third inning to put the Tigers up. Clemson maintained the lead as Millie Thompson earned a complete game win, allowing six hits with five strikeouts and a walk.
