LEADING OFF

Pitt softball travels to McWhorter Stadium to face off against the sixth-ranked Clemson Tigers, April 21-25. The Panthers will play three games over the weekend: Friday (6 p.m. - ACCNX), Saturday (12 p.m. - ACCN), and Sunday (12 p.m. ACCNX).
The game will mark the two team's seventh all-time meeting as the Panthers will travel to Clemson for just the second time since joining the ACC. The Tigers lead the all-time series 5-1 and have won the last three meetings.
The Panthers are coming off a conference series with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets that saw a combined 46 runs scored and 50 hits between the two teams.
In their last five games, Pitt has scored a combined 35 runs on 53 hits against Georgia Tech and Akron.

NOTES

Kat Rodriguez set a program record by going 6-for-6 at the plate against Georgia Tech, becoming the first DI player to record six hits in a single game since Sydney Canessa (Fordham) in 2017. The six-hit game is the first by a Power 5 player in the last nine years.
For the week, Rodriguez posted a .500 batting average with three RBI and four runs scored in three games.
Yvonne Whaley tied the single season program record with her 17th double of the season on Sunday against Georgia Tech.
Dani Drogemuller has recorded 105 strikeouts for her second consecutive 100+ strikeout season and is the first Panther to record two 100+ strikeouts seasons since Savanah King (2012, 2014).
