- Pitt softball travels to Marshall for the Thundering Herd Round Robin, March 4-5. Games against Marshall will be broadcasted on ESPN+. All games against other opponents will not be streamed.
- The Panthers' games on Friday were canceled due to inclement weather predicted in the forecast. Pitt will play its regularly scheduled game Saturday against Morehead State (3 p.m.) and will now play two games Sunday against Kent State (10 a.m.) and host Marshall (ESPN+ - 3 p.m.).
- The Panthers are 10-4 through the first three weeks of play. Five of the Panthers' wins have come by four or more runs, including two wins by eight or more runs. Three of their four losses have been decided by three or fewer runs.
- The Panthers have out-hit their opponents in 11 of 14 games this season, including outhitting the FIU Panthers 21-12 over two games Feb. 17-18.
- Pitt begins their season with six-straight trips on the road. The Panthers have traveled to Clearwater, Fla., Miami, Fla. and Houston, Texas and will continue their road stretch by traveling to Memphis, Tenn. before opening ACC play at Louisville March 17-19
NOTES
- The Panthers scored a combined nine runs over the final three innings of play against Sam Houston (2/25) and Houston (2/25) and improved to 2-2 on the season when trailing after four innings.
- After finishing towards the bottom of the ACC in most of the major statistical categories in 2022, the Panthers have made a turnaround on the young season.
- Through 14 games, Pitt ranks second in the ACC and 21st in the nation in stolen bases per game (2.29). The Panthers rank sixth in the ACC in batting average (.307), fifth in on-base percentage (.395).
- After hitting 35 doubles through 41 games in 2022, Pitt has already hit 26 doubles this season. The Panthers rank fourth in the ACC and 15th in NCAA in both doubles (26) and are second in the ACC and 15th in the NCAA in doubles per game (1.86).
- Sarah Seamans has had a strong start to her final year in the Blue & Gold. Seamans leads the ACC in batting average (.523), on-base percentage (.596), ranks second in hits (129), home runs per game (.36), and OPS (1.528), slugging percentage (.932), total bases (41) and third in stolen bases (8).
- Seamans recorded three game-tying home runs at the University of Houston Tournament with four of her five home runs this season tying the game. Pitt has won two of the four games where she hit a game-tying homer.
- Kat Rodriguez is batting .250 (11-for-44) with six of her hits going for doubles. She is second in the ACC in doubles (6) and second in the ACC in doubles per game (0.43).
- Kayla Lane is batting .303 (10-for-14) on the season and is 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.
