Pitt Back on the Road to Face Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, VA – Pitt lacrosse is on the road again for a second-straight ACC road game, this time traveling to Virginia Tech to face the Hokies Saturday afternoon at Thompson Field. First draw is set for 12 p.m.

Last Sunday, Pitt dropped a conference clash to Louisville 12-9 at Cardinal Stadium. The Panthers battled back in the fourth quarter after trailing for much of the game, but were unable to come out on top in the end. Sydney Naylor notched her second hat trick of the season and Hannah Van Middelem made five saves in the contest.

Virginia Tech sits at 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in ACC play to this point. Their two victories are over VCU and Elon in non-conference play. Blair Guy paces play offensively with 13 goals and one assist and goalie Jocelyn Torres has made 58 saves in between the pipes defensively.

Last season, the Panthers hosted the Hokies at Highmark Stadium and dropped a heartbreaker in overtime 12-11. Pitt Assistant Coach Gregg Gebhard previously was an assistant on the Virginia Tech staff and junior Sammie Giroux transferred to Pitt from Tech.
