
Six Swimmers Set Personal Bests at Ohio State Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Pitt men's swimming team had six swimmers set personal best times over the course of three days at the Ohio State Invitational.
Five swimmers recorded personal best times in multiple events, consisting of Michael Rine (2), Drew Jalbert (2), Alex Craft (3), Wesley Kephart (2), and Jered Moore (2).
Rine came in fifth overall in the prelims of the 200-yard individual medley, setting a personal best time of 1:49.48 and improved his time in the finals to a 1:49.15. Rine also set a personal best and came in fourth overall in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.86, improving from a time of 1:55.27.
Jalbert came in third overall in the 100-yard butterfly with a lifetime best 47.79 and finished eighth overall with another personal best in the 200-yard individual medley (1:51.26). Moore also recorded a lifetime best in the 50-yard freestyle (20.98) and in the 100-yard back (48.40).
Craft (4:31.66) and Kephart (4:31.70) each swam their personal best times in the 500-yard prelims and improved their swims in the finals. Craft came in seventh overall with a time of 4:31.07 and Kephart finished eighth overall with a time of 4:29.67. Kephart also came in fourth in the 200-yard free (1:40.35) while Craft finished sixth (1:41.39). Craft also improved his time in the 1650 freestyle, finishing with a time of 15:51.04.
